2008: My Photos of the Year

(EDIT: I've changed the blog template to be a bit wider to better accommodate when I post photos here. I know the header looks dumb—I'm working on it.)

Many of the photography blogs I read have been posting their "Photos of the Year" for 2008. I took a stroll through my Aperture library, and here are my favorite shots of last year. Click through to have a look.

Campfire from day 1 of our Colorado trip this summer.

Rowan, our friends Brian and Nikki's new son. This is the closest we got to a smile.

Our new dog Molly drooling all over our Christmas pillow.

One of the main facades at Garden of the Gods National Park in Colorado Springs, CO. Sometimes the scenery does all the work.

Charlie and Molly, our two dogs, on Molly's first day at her new home. My, how the tables have turned.

An early morning silhouette of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Another shot from the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge. Special thanks to Google Maps and my iPhone for finding this spot.

The opening straightaway of the Dallas White Rock Marathon in December. My little brother Brent ran it in just over four hours.

Spring in the Hill Country.

And finally, two thirds (right now) of my family!

Those are my favorites from last year. If you'd like prints of anything, let me know and I'll get them ordered for you.

  1. I'm surprised the infamous "red mountain" shot of the mountain reflected in the lake didn't make it! But I like the Golden Gate, and I can't believe how much Molly has grown.

  3. I don't know how you ever decided on your best photos because you have so many wonderful ones, especially when you think about all of your Colorado shots! The flower trail one you selected looks like it would be a postcard. I would love to have a copy of the one of Molly with the Christmas pillow since I have one of Charlie but not her. I agree that you need to add Red Mountain to your collection. Great pictures!!!

  4. Awww... Rowan's black and white pic! Don't worry, he just wasn't smiling much at the time but he's doing it all the time now. :)
